As much as I would support Johnson's supposition, I like the addition here of the Constitution to which I would add the Declaration. The government securing of rights, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is precise in way that the Bible is not. It automatically assumes rights first, government second. Now that is in the bible, but here is the founding vision of our Republic.

Well written. Following your faith isn’t incompatible with tolerance for others’. Such tolerance is essential in a democratic society.
